Literature Text
My first girlfriend's name was Cindarella.
Everybody finds that cute when they hear it and wants
to know more about the relationship that was:
how we met, what we did, do you have any stories—
At that point I'm spewing bibbidy-bobbidy-bogus
because all I remember was her hospital gown,
her ambulance-carriage, fairy godmother father,
the slip-on socks and the psych ward we shared.
Cinda was my first, but she was also that crazy ex.
And I learned I have a ball when I'm with girls diagnosed crazy.

Awake
Awake
We - are the children of Cygnus
Sagittarius , the Pleiades, Orion, and the Dog Star
Sprung from the womb of the Hypernova
Recycled, Reborn, Eternal
Observe
Times arrow returned to its quiver
Unlimited
Alive - in every moment that has been
or will ever be
Free
From the shackles of the linear mind
and the material wastelands of the Fallen
Pity the mortal and the blind
We dine on starlight
and dance to the rhythm of the fractal void
The heavy metal, rock and roll beat of the Magnetar and Star Quakes
The techo-jazz, thump thump thump of the pulsars
The waltz of the binaries
in their elegant embrace
We ride the big surf of the Broa

Trying to Clear My Mind
Invisible until,
a smile seen through a window.
A bright light ensnaring a moth.
Handsome, quiet mystery.
Many reasons to walk away,
but... a puzzle and I reluctantly,
obsessed. Trying to turn away,
but piqued by music, art, creativity!
Just let it go, let it go,
why can't I let it go. Filled with curiosity.
The best way out is through.
Must unravel the mystery.
Would he meet for coffee,
a phone call,
a text?

Within blue eyes
anemone and starfish
abound, and seaweed eyelashes
move leisurely with the tides.
At sunset they sparkle,
lined with golden sand
and swirling without a sure direction,
becoming cloudy as a storm brews.
Beware, anger flashes across the surface,
where riptides catch the unwary
ships and sailors, wrecked
and broken amongst its depths.
Only the brave venture in,
attracted by the untameable,
roaring waves and sharp wind.
Eyes stinging, they enter the battle.
Slowly they themselves become blue,
the cold clinging to their skin,
sucking out all their warmth.
Then white as stone,
lips cracked and filled with salt
that leaves a bitter

Bitlets are about quantity, not quality. Free-write at least one a day about what is on your mind, going on around you, or the state of your life. Ignore the urge to edit; it's not about being profound on purpose, it's about stumbling on it by accident.About this Bitlet
I thought this would be a suitable topic for the thirteenth bitlet when I was writing, seeing as how I consider thirteen a 'bad' number. All of this is entirely true. Her name is Cindarella, we met in a psych ward, she is crazy, and I like crazy. Bite me.Browse Bitlets

I've just finally got a VPN after more than a year of Chinese internet censorship and wow deviantart feels like home. Apparently I read this before, because I commented and faved already but I've just had the pleasure of reading it again for the first time (thank you China) and it's resonating even more strongly now with my current relationship (I think I managed to find the good, compatible, stable-ish but still spontaneous, unpredictable, wondrous, am I actually so happy that I don't have to write poetry as therapy any more, kind of crazy. A functional, stimulating relationship is a new experience for me.) This poem is wonderful. Life is wonderful.
